|Continuing on immediately from the end of Evil Dead II, Ash is whisked away through a vortex back to the 14th century. In order for him to return to the current time he has to recover the Necronomicon (the Book of the Dead) from its unholy resting place and recite a sacred passage from the pages within.|
The third and last (although there are hints of a fourth installment in the future according to Raimi & Campbell) in the trilogy of Evil Dead movies. There are two versions of the film available - both are on the DVD. The standard 81m theatrical version and the 96m Director's Cut.
