Bad guys (i.e. Soviets) kidnap scientist and his daughter to build a death ray atop a lighthouse.
Second Dick Barton film produced, but last to be released, is an improvement over the amateurish intitial effort, mainly because it is not trying so hard to be a kid's film. That, and the comic relief is much toned down. It is still a bit crude and suffers from underwhelming villains, though. Maur appears to be aping his countryman Lugosi in this role.
Filmed in the spring of 1948, but not released for more than two years. Beatrice Kane is prominently credited, but somewhere in those two years her scenes were cut out.
