A wealthy airline owner has his young son snatched from him and is given a ransom in order for him to be returned safely. He not only refuses to pay, but in a daring twist he issues the blackmailer an ultimatum that if he does not return his child, he will pay the asking price... not to the kidnappers - but to the one who finds the person responsible for taking his child hostage.

An incredibly tense and thrilling movie, no less that what you would expect from the genius of director Howard and a marvellously on-form Gibson. Delroy Lindo as the detective also gives a standout performance worthy of mention.
